Chad's BBQChad’s BBQ is Open

There has been a lot of activity at the old “Wharfside Bar and Grill” location on Central Avenue in Edgewater. Rick and Sandy Sargent still own the property and their son, Chad Sargent, has been working hard to facilitate the recent opening of the new restaurant and his vision, “CHAD’S BBQ”, which officially opened a week ago.

There have been many changes to the food and the decor, but the family feel is still present. The bar remains as does the patio. The new look and feel incorporates a collection of nostalgic record albums which are framed and hanging on the walls.

Chad sees at least as much carryout business as dining-in. Service is fast and you can expect your hot meal to come out in minutes.

So, how is this food different from the other barbeque places in town? It is the only place in Edgewater where the ribs are smoked. And, not just the ribs. How about a smoked meatloaf sandwich? Or, you can choose either Chad’s own recipe of the in-house sauce or Carolina sauce on your pulled pork. Chad has also created his own recipe for Texas hot links sausages which are made locally to his specifications.

The delicious must-try side items include corn bread, salt potatoes, collard greens, mac & cheese, cole slaw, and pork & beans. All of the sides are made from scratch. Also made in-house are the pickles.

Children are always welcome and the menu offers mini pizzas and hot dogs (preservative free) as an option for them. Pair those items with some yummy mac & cheese or applesauce and you should have a happy kid!

Top it all off with dessert! Choco Taco ice cream, house-made banana pudding with fresh whipped cream, and chocolate Mississippi mud bars.

Happy Hour drink prices at the bar are on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4-6pm.

CHAD’S BBQ is open Tuesday throughThursday 11am – 7pm. Friday and Saturday 11am – 8pm. Sunday 11am – 4pm. They are closed on Mondays.
