Our Favorite Local Breweries You’ll Want to Try This Fall

As the cooler autumn weather approaches, many Maryland residents will look for activities to enjoy fall. So between bonfires, dining out, and all fall attractions, why not visit some of your favorite local breweries too? Luckily for you, Maryland loves beer (and so do we!) So much so that it boasts many incredible local breweries. And while there are a lot, we want to talk about some that are within driving distance from Edgewater, Maryland. So let’s look at a few great breweries for the fall weather.

Union Craft Brewing

If you’re looking for a casual brewery with a relaxed vibe, you’ve come to the right place with Union Craft Brewing. Despite its convenient location within the bustling business center in Medfield, Union Craft Brewing maintains a distinctly chill vibe. They offer a wide variety of delicious and unique brews, including one of their all-time classics, Zadie’s Lager.

Union Craft Brewing puts the community at the forefront of all they do and is always on the cutting edge of local tastes, making them a clear choice for one of our favorite local breweries. If we had to pick a brew to try first, give their Duckpin Pale Ale a try. It’s one of the most popular brews.

RAR Brewing

With a stellar location on the Chesapeake Bay’s shores, a visit to RAR Brewing is more than just a meal and a beverage — it’s an experience. Additionally, the building was once home to a bowling alley and pool hall more than 80 years ago. They choose this location with the goal of maintaining the building’s history.

RAR Brewing is an especially great brewery for fall because they offer a huge variety of autumn-inspired beverages. Although they still have their tried and true, like their Country Ride Pale Ale. You’ll be amazed at the sheer number of choices you have as you have. You can visit them or find their brews at many local restaurants.

Pherm Brewing Company

It’s not often that one of your favorite local breweries can also be a hub for the local music and social scenes, but Pherm Brewing Company is no typical brewery. They have open mic nights, trivia nights, visits from local food trucks, and more. As a result, Pherm Brewing Company has cemented itself as a gathering place for Edgewater residents of all lifestyles and interests.

One of our favorite brews to try at Pherm Brewing Company is their Forbin IPA. It is a rich and flavorful beer made with multiple types of hops and just the right amount of malt. However, their Throw the Pumpkin At the Tree ale is best for festive autumn flavors!

Big Truck Farm Brewery

Since its creation, Big Truck Farm Brewery has set its sights on some very big dreams and has achieved many of them. One of their biggest goals was to brew authentic beer from the ground up by using their own hops. So, they grew their hops farm over several years from two acres to ten!

With big goals and the drive to meet them, it’s clear that Big Truck Farm Brewery is a force to be reckoned with in the local brewery scene. During a trip to Big Truck Farm Brewery, you can take your pick from a wide variety of core brews, including their Highboy IPA and Half Cab Hazy IPA.
